What are the restaurants in Toronto Pearson Airport?

Toronto Pearson has restaurants in both terminals, on both sides of security. The airport's own shop-and-dine directory lists them by terminal and by where they sit: before security, or after security on the Canada, international or USA side. Which ones you can reach depends on your boarding pass, not your appetite.

People searching for Pearson airport restaurants usually want one of two things: somewhere to eat once they are through security, or somewhere to take a group for a proper meal before or after a flight. This page covers both. The first half is inside the airport, organised the way the airport organises it. The second half is the restaurants near Toronto Pearson Airport that we can point to with confidence: the hotel dining rooms on the airport strip, and the main dining districts in Mississauga and Etobicoke.

Everything named below was checked against an official page in October 2026, either the airport's own restaurant listings or the hotel's own website. We name a selection, not every outlet, because the airport changes its mix often. For the full and current list, use the airport's shop and dine directory, where you can pick your airline or destination and see the options in your terminal.

Which side of security are you on?

The most useful thing to know about YYZ restaurants is that the airport is split into zones, and your options change when you cross a line. The directory sorts every outlet as before security or after security, and the after-security group is divided by where your flight is going.

  • Before security (landside). Open to anyone: passengers, meeters and greeters, drivers and hotel guests. This is where you eat if you are early, meeting someone, or simply want food before you commit to the queue.
  • After security, Canada side. For domestic departures.
  • After security, international side. For flights to destinations other than Canada and the United States.
  • After security, USA side. For flights to the United States, which clear US customs and immigration in Canada before boarding.

At Terminal 1, the listings we read line up with gate letters: Canada-side outlets sit near the D gates, international near the E gates and USA near the F gates. At Terminal 3 the airport groups Canada and international together, with the USA side near the A gates.

The practical rule: decide where to eat before you clear security, because you cannot easily go back for something you passed. If your gate is on the USA side, the choice in front of you after screening may be narrower than the whole terminal's.

Which Pearson airport restaurants are in Terminal 1?

Terminal 1 is the larger of the two buildings and home to Air Canada and its Star Alliance partners. The table below names a selection of what the airport lists there, grouped by side of security. It is a sample, not a catalogue.

WhereRestaurants the airport listsWhat it is, in the airport's words

After security, USA sideThe Hearth by Lynn Crawford (near gate F60)Flatbreads, salads and sandwiches
After security, USA sideApropos (near gates F62 and F65)Bar seating, small plates and sandwiches

The directory lists further Terminal 1 outlets that we have left out to keep this readable. Opening hours change by season and flight schedule, so the ones that matter for early and late travel are in a separate section below.

Which Toronto airport restaurants are in Terminal 3?

Terminal 3 is the home of WestJet and most of the other airlines, and it is arranged more simply. The airport groups the Canada and international sides together, and the USA side has its own cluster.

WhereRestaurants the airport listsWhat it is, in the airport's words
Before securitySubway (Level 1, arrivals, near domestic arrivals)Subs, chopped salads and a kids' menu

Settle your terminal first. Our Pearson complete guide covers the layout and the free Terminal Link train between the buildings, and the terminal finder tells you which building your airline uses.

Dietary needs. The airport's listings flag vegetarian, gluten-free and halal options on many outlets, and Paramount Fine Foods describes its meat as Ontario-certified halal. If you eat to a rule, read the individual listing before you commit, because menus change.

Which YYZ restaurants are open early or late?

This is the question behind most late-night and early-morning searches. The honest answer is that hours vary by outlet and by season, and many close well before the last flights. A few places are listed as open round the clock or from before dawn. As listed on the airport's pages in October 2026:

RestaurantWhereHours the airport lists
A&WTerminal 1, after security, Canada side, near gate D37Open 24 hours daily
Osmow's ShawarmaTerminal 1, after security, Canada side, near gate D37Open 24 hours
SubwayTerminal 1, before security, Level 2 mezzanineEvery day, 24 hours
SubwayTerminal 3, before security, Level 1 arrivalsEvery day, 24 hours
Tim HortonsTerminal 3, after security, near gate B26Every day, 24 hours
Tim HortonsTerminal 3, before security, arrivals level4:30 am to 8:00 pm daily
ViniferaTerminal 1, after security, international sideFrom 5:00 am to the last flight
AcerTerminal 3, after security, Canada and internationalFrom 5:00 am to the last flight
AproposTerminal 1, after security, USA sideFrom 5:00 am to the last flight

Two things follow. If you are on an early departure, check that an outlet on your side of security is open before you plan around it, because other outlets in the directory open at noon or later. And if you land in the small hours, the 24-hour options before security are the Subways at both terminals, with the chauffeur at arrivals as the alternative.

Treat the table as a snapshot: on the day of travel the individual listing is the authority. Where a listing says "last flight", the outlet follows the schedule rather than a fixed closing time.

Where can you find restaurants near Toronto Pearson Airport?

The restaurants near Pearson Airport that we can vouch for are in the hotels along the airport strip. A hotel's own website says what its dining rooms are called and where they are, and the hotels are the closest sit-down meals to the terminals. We checked each below on its own official site in October 2026.

Hotel and addressDining the hotel listsNotes from the hotel's site

The two Dixon Road hotels share a road close to the airport. The Sheraton Gateway is the one inside the terminal precinct, so for a layover with a few hours in hand it is the nearest sit-down option that needs no vehicle. If you are choosing a room as well as a meal, see our airport-strip hotels page and the Mississauga hotels route page.

Whether a hotel restaurant takes walk-ins or larger groups is the hotel's call, not ours. Ring ahead, especially on a weekend. The Sheraton Gateway's site, for example, lists booking by phone or through a reservations service.

Are there other restaurants near Toronto Airport in Mississauga and Etobicoke?

Yes, though we have not verified individual restaurants outside the hotels, so this section describes where to look rather than naming businesses. Wherever you go, confirm hours and any reservation with the venue yourself.

Dixon Road and the Etobicoke edge. Two of the hotels above sit here, which makes it the closest place for a sit-down meal and an easy return to the terminals.

Viscount Road and the Mississauga side. The Alt Hotel is here, close to the terminals and the Viscount Road parking lots.

The Square One area, Mississauga. This is the one worth a deliberate trip. Square One, at 100 City Centre Drive, describes itself on its own website as Ontario's largest shopping centre, with 100 places to eat. For choice and cuisine variety for a group, this is where to look, and the centre's own site shows what is there today.

For a longer trip, check the live highway board first, and see the downtown Toronto route page.

What should you eat on a layover, and can you leave the terminal?

A layover is where Pearson's layout matters most. The questions are always the same: how long do I have, which side of security am I on, and do I need to be screened again.

On screening, the airport says that not every connecting passenger has to be re-screened at Pearson, and it publishes a connection guide to work out which group you are in. Passengers who do go through security follow CATSA's rules, including the limits on liquids, gels and aerosols and the requirement to remove electronic devices from their cases. The airport's connections security page and CATSA's security screening page set this out.

A workable way to think about it:

  1. A short gap between flights: eat near your arrival gate or on the way to your next one, and watch the boarding time rather than the menu.
  2. Several hours, same side of security: a sit-down meal is realistic. Check the gate early.
  3. A long gap and permission to enter Canada: leaving the terminal means clearing customs and coming back through security. That depends on your entry requirements and your airline's connection rules, so confirm both first.
  4. A night layover: the hotels in the table above, including the Sheraton Gateway inside Terminal 3, are the practical answer.

Leave a bigger margin than you would for a meal at home. The airport sends passengers to their airline for advice on how early to be at the gate, and that advice, not the restaurant's service time, is the number that counts.

Can a chauffeur stop for a meal on the way to or from the airport?

Yes, and for many travellers it is the most comfortable answer to the whole question. A normal airport transfer is point to point, so a meal stop is a different booking: our hourly chauffeur service, where the car and chauffeur stay with you for the time you book.

The way it works in practice is straightforward:

  • On the way to a flight: a chauffeur collects you from home or the office, drives to a restaurant of your choosing, waits while you eat, and then takes you on to Pearson. There is no parking to find or pay for, and the chauffeur keeps an eye on the flight and the road while you are at the table.
  • On the way from a flight: you land, are met at arrivals, and are taken to a restaurant before home. Nobody has to circle for a parking space with tired travellers and luggage in the car.

The reservation engine quotes a fixed fare for your exact addresses and the time you need before you book, so there is nothing to work out at the table. Choose the restaurant first and tell us how long you expect to be there. If the plan is only an airport run, the Pearson airport limo page and the pickup service are the straight bookings, and the departures service is planned backwards from your check-in time.

Plan a meal stop on the way to your flight

How do you plan a group dinner before a flight?

A group dinner before a flight is a timing exercise first and a restaurant choice second. Work backwards from the departure.

  1. Fix the flight and the terminal. Use the terminal finder so everyone is told the same building.
  2. Take the airline's arrival advice and add margin. A larger group with luggage needs more time than one traveller.
  3. Choose the district by how long you have. The Dixon Road and Viscount Road hotels are close to the terminals; the Square One district offers more choice for a longer meal. Ring ahead either way, say you have a flight, and agree the last order time.
  4. Book one vehicle for the party. One chauffeured vehicle takes everyone from the table to the terminal with nobody driving or parking. See the fleet for capacities and the event and group page for larger parties.

For a client dinner before a flight, the corporate page explains account bookings, and the accessible and family transfers page covers travellers who need extra help.

Sources and how this page was checked

Terminal, side-of-security and gate details come from the individual listings in the airport's shop and dine directory, read in October 2026. The airport's security page and connections page informed the layover advice. Hotel restaurants come from each hotel's own website, and Square One's description from the centre's own site, all linked below. We have rated no restaurant and call none better than another.

FAQ

Airport restaurants: questions answered

What are the main Pearson airport restaurants in Terminal 1?

The airport lists Twist by Roger Mooking, A&W, Osmow's Shawarma and Bar 120 on the Canada side, Vinifera, LEE Kitchen and La Place on the international side, and The Hearth by Lynn Crawford and Apropos on the USA side. Before security there are Subway on the mezzanine and Comfort Zone at ground level.

Which Toronto airport restaurants are open 24 hours?

As the airport listed them in October 2026, A&W and Osmow's Shawarma in Terminal 1 after security, Subway in both terminals before security, and the Tim Hortons near gate B26 in Terminal 3 are listed as open 24 hours. Hours change, so confirm on the airport's listing for the day you travel.

Can I eat before I go through security at Pearson?

Yes. Both terminals have restaurants before security, open to passengers and visitors alike, including Subway at both terminals, Tim Hortons at Terminal 3 arrivals, Freshii at Terminal 3 departures and Comfort Zone at Terminal 1.

Are there restaurants near Toronto Pearson Airport that are not in a hotel?

There are, mainly along Dixon Road and Airport Road and in the Square One district of Mississauga, but we have only named the ones we could confirm on an official website, and those are the hotel restaurants. For anywhere else, check the venue's own site for hours and book ahead.

Do I need to go through security again on a layover at Pearson?

Not always. The airport says that not every connecting passenger needs to be re-screened and provides a connection guide to tell you which group you are in. If you do go through security, CATSA's rules on liquids and electronics apply.

Can I leave the airport for a meal and still make my flight?

It is possible with a long gap, but you would need to clear security again, and the airline's own advice on how early to be at the gate governs your timing. A chauffeur booked by the hour can take you to a restaurant and back to the right terminal, but you should still leave a generous margin.

Can a chauffeur wait while I eat dinner on the way to the airport?

Yes, with an hourly booking. The chauffeur drives you to the restaurant, waits, and then takes you on to the terminal, so there is no parking to find. The reservation engine quotes a fixed fare for your addresses and the time you need before you book.

Is there a restaurant inside Terminal 3 where I can sit down before my flight?

On the airport's listings, Fionn MacCool's, Tap & Pour, Heirloom Bakery Cafe and Acer are after-security options near the B and C gates, and Cluny Grille is on the USA side near gate A10. The Sheraton Gateway Hotel inside the terminal precinct also has &More by Sheraton.
