What is a monthly chauffeur service in Toronto?

A monthly chauffeur service is a reserved block of chauffeur hours, 40, 80, 120 or 220 a month, held for you with one named chauffeur and one class of car. You spend the hours however the month unfolds: flights out of Pearson, Bay Street meetings, school pickups, dinners. Every hour is billed at the ordinary hourly rate, taxes and 20% gratuity included, and unused hours do not roll over.

Most of our monthly clients started the same way: they booked an airport run, then a second one the next week, then an afternoon of meetings, and by the third invoice they realised they were rebuilding the same itinerary over and over with a different chauffeur each time. A monthly block fixes that. The hours are reserved in advance on our dispatch calendar, so the car and the chauffeur are held for you before anyone else can book them, and the person who collected you at Terminal 3 on Monday is the same person waiting outside your Yorkville office on Thursday.

The block is not a discount scheme and we do not dress it up as one. A reserved hour costs exactly what a single booked hour costs, the same all-in figure you see in the vehicles below. What you buy with a block is priority, continuity and a single monthly invoice, not a lower price. If you prefer to buy hours one booking at a time, the hourly chauffeur service does that at the same rate.

The four monthly blocks and what they cost

You choose one vehicle class and one block size per month. The table shows every combination at the standard all-in rate, including the chauffeur-only option for clients who want our chauffeur driving their own car.

Hours reserved per monthBusiness sedanFirst-class sedanSUV BusinessSUV FirstChauffeur only, your car
40 hours$6,200$11,400$7,400$9,400$3,800
80 hours$12,400$22,800$14,800$18,800$7,600
120 hours$18,600$34,200$22,200$28,200$11,400
220 hours (about 10 h x 22 days)$34,100$62,700$40,700$51,700$20,900

The arithmetic is deliberately plain: hours reserved multiplied by the hourly rate for the class. A business sedan for 40 hours is $6,200; the same car for 80 hours is $12,400; 120 hours is $18,600; and a full 220-hour month, roughly ten hours across 22 working days, is $34,100. A first-class sedan at 40 hours is $11,400, an SUV Business is $7,400, an SUV First is $9,400, and chauffeur-only service in your own car is $3,800 for 40 hours. Nothing is hidden inside those totals except the chauffeur's gratuity, which is already counted.

How to choose the right block size

The easiest way to size a block is to look back at the last month you spent being driven, or the last month you wished you had been. A few rules of thumb from the accounts we run:

  • 40 hours suits the frequent flyer who wants every Pearson trip and two or three city days handled by the same person. Think one departure and one arrival a week from a Forest Hill or Oakville home, plus a couple of half-days of meetings.
  • 80 hours covers about four hours on most working days. It fits the executive who is driven to the office, collected at lunch for a client meeting across town and taken home, without the car standing by all afternoon.
  • 120 hours is roughly six hours a weekday. This is where clients start keeping the car on standby between meetings in Mississauga, Vaughan and the downtown core instead of releasing it.
  • 220 hours is effectively a full-time chauffeur: about ten hours on each of 22 working days. Households and leadership teams that want someone on hand from the morning school run to the evening event book this size.

If you are between two sizes, choose the smaller one. Hours you use beyond the block are simply billed as overtime at the same hourly rate, so there is no penalty for going over, whereas reserved hours you do not use are not carried into the next month.

How a month on a monthly block actually runs

At the start of the account we sit down, by phone or in person, and map out your standing week: the regular departures, the recurring meetings, the gym or the clinic, the weekly dinner. Those slots go onto the dispatch calendar as fixed bookings and your chauffeur plans around them. Everything else is requested as it comes up, by text, by email, through your assistant or through the online booker, and it draws down from the same block.

Airport runs inside the block

Pearson trips are the backbone of most monthly accounts. Your chauffeur tracks the flight, so a delayed arrival from London or Vancouver does not leave you waiting at the curb. On a standard pickup the chauffeur meets you at the GTAA pre-arranged pickup area outside the terminal door, the Door A area at Terminal 1 or Door A at Terminal 3; the terminal map shows both. If you want the chauffeur inside the arrivals hall with a name board, meet and greet is available as a paid add-on. Private-aviation arrivals at the FBOs on the airport's south side work the same way, covered on our private jet and FBO page.

Overtime, kilometres and the extras

Overtime is not a problem and needs no advance approval: if the board dinner runs late or the flight lands after midnight, the extra time is billed at the same hourly rate as the block. Each day includes 150 km of driving, enough for a return trip from downtown to Pearson twice over; beyond that, extra kilometres are $3 in a business sedan, $4 in either SUV and $8 in a first-class sedan. Highway 407 tolls, parking and in-car Wi-Fi are passed through at actual cost, itemised on the invoice. The 407 ETR site has the current toll schedule if your finance team wants to estimate that line.

Days out of town

When a booking takes the chauffeur out of town, to the cottage in Muskoka, a plant visit in Niagara or a meeting in Ottawa, the hourly rate for those hours rises by 50%, and the chauffeur's hotel and a flat $100 travel allowance are added. That applies whether the chauffeur is driving our car or yours, and the full table is below.

The hourly rates behind every block

Because the monthly block uses ordinary hourly pricing, the rate table that applies to a one-off booking also applies to every hour in your month.

Every vehicle we put on a monthly account is four model years old or newer, which today means 2023 or later. The cards in the vehicles section below list the models in each class.

What "the same chauffeur" means in practice

Continuity is the reason most people move to a monthly account, so it is worth being specific. You are assigned one primary chauffeur who works your block, learns your routes and your preferences, and keeps your standing schedule. The chauffeur knows which entrance your building's security prefers, how long the drive from your home to Pearson really takes at 6 am in February, and whether you want the radio on. A named backup chauffeur is briefed on the account as well, so the same standards apply on the primary chauffeur's days off. How cover is arranged for holidays and illness is set out in the written agreement.

All of our chauffeurs hold the City of Toronto vehicle-for-hire licence and are screened before their first assignment. High-profile clients can run the whole account under a signed non-disclosure agreement; the NDA section below explains how that works.

Monthly service in a Toronto winter

A monthly chauffeur earns the fee most visibly between December and March. The 401 and the Gardiner in a snow squall, an early departure in freezing rain, a parking garage you no longer have to dig out of: these are the days when a driver who knows the roads and a well-prepared car matter most. Our SUVs run winter tires from November to April, and chauffeurs plan extra time for Pearson departures when the forecast turns. Ontario's winter driving guidance is a useful reminder of why so many commuters hand the wheel over in January.

Monthly, yearly or by the trip: which fits?

A monthly block is the right tool when your driving needs are regular but may change from one month to the next. If you already know you will want the same block for the whole year, a yearly chauffeur contract holds the same hours with the hourly rate locked for 12 months. If you need a car for a few days or a couple of weeks rather than every month, short-term chauffeur hire is the better fit. Clients who already own a car they like can book our chauffeur to drive it under the chauffeur-for-your-car program, at $95 an hour with a 4-hour minimum within the city. And if you want to compare every option side by side, our guide to what a chauffeur costs in Toronto walks through the numbers.

Setting up a monthly account

  1. Tell us your standing week: home and office addresses, regular flights, recurring appointments, and the vehicle class you prefer.
  2. We recommend a block size, confirm the monthly total and introduce your primary chauffeur.
  3. The written agreement sets out the account terms, including billing, cover for the chauffeur's days off and how changes to the block are made.
  4. Your standing schedule goes onto the calendar and the first booking runs, often a Pearson departure.
  5. At month end you receive one invoice showing reserved hours, overtime, extra kilometres and pass-through costs, line by line.

Reserve a monthly chauffeur

If you would rather talk it through first, call 1-877-508-3344 or send us your standing week and we will come back with a recommended block.

Discretion & NDA

Confidentiality you can file, not just a promise

Any dedicated, long-term or high-profile booking from Pearson or anywhere in the GTA can run under a signed non-disclosure agreement. We already work that way for:

Ministers, officials and their staffConsuls general and visiting delegationsCelebrities and public figuresAthletes, coaches and team staffMusicians, artists and touring crewsExecutives, boards and family offices

Signed before the first address

Send us your non-disclosure agreement or ask for ours; it is signed before a passenger name, a flight number or a hotel reaches dispatch. Every chauffeur and coordinator on the account signs a personal confidentiality undertaking as well.

Only the people who need it

The assigned chauffeur, a named backup and your account coordinator are the only people who can open the itinerary. A code name can stand in for the passenger on the booking, the sign and the invoice.

No photos, no posts, no stories

Chauffeurs never photograph, film, post or repeat anything about a passenger, a route, a hotel or a meeting, during the job or after it. A breach ends that chauffeur's work with us.

Quiet doors at Pearson and in town

Private-aviation terminals, hotel service entrances, loading docks and underground garages are agreed in advance. The cars carry no company markings, and a name board appears only if you ask for one.

Screened before the first job

Criminal-record and driving-record checks before the first assignment and again at renewal, Toronto vehicle-for-hire licensing, and briefings on protocol, defensive driving and high-profile passengers.

Records kept lean

Trip records stay with your account team only as long as the agreement and the law require, and leave it only with your written consent or where the law compels disclosure.

FAQ

Monthly chauffeur: questions answered

How much is a monthly chauffeur in Toronto?

It depends on the block and the car. A business sedan is $6,200 for 40 hours, $12,400 for 80 hours, $18,600 for 120 hours and $34,100 for 220 hours. An SUV Business is $7,400 for 40 hours and a first-class sedan $11,400. Every figure is all-in, taxes and 20% gratuity included.

Is a monthly block cheaper than booking by the hour?

No. A reserved hour costs the same as a single booked hour in the same class. The block buys you priority on the dispatch calendar, the same chauffeur every time and one monthly invoice. We price it this way so the comparison with ad-hoc booking is simple and honest.

What happens to hours I do not use?

Unused hours and unused kilometres do not roll over into the next month. That is why we suggest starting with the smaller of two block sizes: hours you use beyond the block are billed at the same hourly rate, so going over costs nothing extra while under-using a large block does.

Can I go over my monthly hours?

Yes. Overtime needs no advance approval and is billed at exactly the same hourly rate as the block. If a dinner runs late or a flight lands after midnight, your chauffeur simply stays and the extra time appears as a separate line on the monthly invoice.

Are Pearson airport runs included in the block?

Yes. Airport trips draw down from your hours like any other booking, with flight tracking on every arrival. Standard pickups are at the GTAA pre-arranged pickup area at the terminal door, Terminal 1 Door A area or Terminal 3 Door A. A chauffeur inside the arrivals hall is a paid meet-and-greet add-on.

Will I really get the same chauffeur every time?

You are assigned one primary chauffeur who works your block and keeps your standing schedule, plus a named backup who is briefed on the account. How holidays, sick days and other cover are handled is set out in the written agreement before the first booking runs.

How many kilometres are included each day?

Each day includes 150 km. Beyond that, extra kilometres are $3 in a business sedan, $4 in either SUV class and $8 in a first-class sedan. Tolls such as the 407 ETR, parking and in-car Wi-Fi are billed at actual cost and itemised separately.

What if I need the chauffeur outside Toronto?

Out-of-town hours are billed at the hourly rate plus 50%, for example $232.50 an hour in a business sedan, and the chauffeur's hotel and a flat $100 travel allowance are added. The same rule applies whether the chauffeur drives our car or yours.

Can the chauffeur drive my own car on a monthly plan?

Yes. Chauffeur-only service in your own car is $95 an hour within the city, so a 40-hour month is $3,800 and a 220-hour month is $20,900, taxes and gratuity included. The 4-hour minimum applies to each booking within the city.

How do I change my block size?

Tell your account coordinator as soon as you expect your month to change. How and when a block can be resized is set out in the written agreement, so we agree those rules with you at the start rather than inventing them later.

Can the account run under an NDA?

Yes. Any monthly account can run under your non-disclosure agreement or ours, signed before a passenger name or flight number reaches dispatch. The assigned chauffeur, the backup and your coordinator are the only people who see the itinerary. The NDA section on this page has the details.
